Our Story
For over 15 years, Dark Horse Espresso has grown in lockstep with Toronto. As one of Canada's early Specialty Coffee shops, we've grown from one beloved espresso bar to a collection of cafés throughout the city's diverse and thriving neighbourhoods.
Like Toronto, we're no longer a dark horse. But we continue to operate with the underdog ethic. Every day we strive to contribute to our great city— to make space for new ideas and unlikely friendships— and to reflect, respect, connect and create tomorrow’s Toronto.
Our Coffee
Since 2006 we've strived to serve Toronto's best espresso.
Our house blends are a particular point of pride— 20 Grand and Northern Dance are beloved by Torontians across the city and they’re now also served at some of Toronto's top specialty grocers. Fun fact: they are also both names of storied racehorses!
We continually work to improve and refine our coffee program, in collaboration with our sister company Detour Coffee. Each of our locations offers a rotating coffee menu highlighting seasonal Single Origin coffees from the world's best coffee regions.
